Virgin Media to unveil integrated campaign with RAPP to promote broadband and telephone deal

Virgin Media is set to roll out online ads to promote its broadband and telephone package on 12 August.

Created by RAPP, the ads were designed to stand out and provide a hint of humour in the broadband and telecommunications market.

Marco Scognamiglio, chief executive at RAPP, said: “Virgin Media is consistently shaking up the market with its great value packages and super-fast internet speeds. We wanted to create a response driven campaign that challenges consumers to think about their current services and consider switching to Virgin Media. This daring campaign has been designed to be eye-catching and written in order drive response.”

The first two executions read: ‘Staring won’t make your internet faster. But calling 0800 052 6756 could.’ and ‘Feel free to shop around for another offer. We’ll be here when you get back. Superfast broadband from £4.50 a month.’

Michael Payne, director of customer insights and one-to-one marketing at Virgin Media, said: “We want to tell people about the fantastic online experience our superfast broadband provides while delivering real value to consumers in a highly competitive market. This hard-working direct response campaign delivers a hard hitting sales message, while keeping the irreverence of the Virgin Media brand and entertaining people; critical to achieving cut through in this market.”
