Yorkshire Building Society is to implement a new web-based internal system for operational staff, call centres and branches based on user interface designs and guidelines designed by digital marketing agency, Digital Consortium.

The agency carried out research with staff to gain an understanding of how they needed the system to perform, the findings were then integrated into the final set of guidelines for the new programme. Currently staff navigate through a number of systems, it is hoped the new web-based internal system will create a more useable, uniform system for staff.

Senior Analyst at the Yorkshire, Mark Bentley, commented: “Our team members have fed back that the User Interface Guidelines produced by Digital Consortium are the most detailed they have ever seen. The general feedback I've received from the Programme and Operational Teams has also been fantastic.

“The guidelines and sample screen designs produced by Digital Consortium will be followed by our technical team when they design and build the system, adhering to the best practice guides provided and using all the graphic elements they have prescribed.”

Liz Robinson, client services director at Digital Consortium, added: “This was a wonderful opportunity for Yorkshire Building Society to receive not just a beautifully designed interface across its internal web-based systems, but also an interface that is conceived with the needs of the user paramount.

“It will be obvious to staff that the system is there to help them in their work, not hinder them.”
