ZOMBIE EXPERIMENT NEW YORK

Brand Viral Chart

This weeks chart topper belongs to US TV channel AMC. Their new campaign "Put Zombies Back On TV" is a protest in reply to DISH Network's decision to drop AMC and all it's shows (including Walking Dead), as well as blacking out several other channels. The dispute allegedly came about after the two sides failed to sign a new distribution agreement. While DISH have been taking issue with AMC's fees & viewing figures, AMC have hit back claiming that DISH are "using their consumers as pawns to attempt to gain leverage in a lawsuit involving an old and unrelated business venture that has nothing to do with AMC". AMC's campaign is based on raising awareness to the fact that fans of their shows, such as Walking Dead, are currently missing out, and that these shows need to be seen again. The ad involves New York being taken over by "Zombies", and shows us the reactions they get on the street, and how they just don't fit in to normal life. The ad ends on the message "Zombies don't belong here. Put them back on TV".

THEREISACITY

UGC Chart

Its a new entry taking the top spot this week with an inspiring video showing the citizens of Warsaw, Poland, pay hommage to the fallen heroes that fought for freedom in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. Every year on the anniversary of its commence, August 1st, the people of Warsaw stop wherever they are for a minutes silence in honour of the 200,000+ lives lost in the biggest rebellion against German Nazi occupation during WWII. The video, which captures the epitome of community spirit, immediately went viral, with over 50,000 shares in just 3 days, and received thousands of supportive messages from around the globe. On the subject of community spirit, and with the Olympics in full swing this week, it seems only fitting that a video encapturing Olympic pride made its way into the chart. New in at number 4 this week, then, is "The Happiest Olympic worker 2012". If ever there was a medal for most enthusiastic fan then the star of this video would swipe the Gold! Positioned outside Stratford international train station this week, the mystery woman used a megaphone and a dry sense of humour to deliver words of encouragement to the passing crowds.... #GoteamGB
