Electronics brand Panasonic is using Ocean Outdoor’s Two Towers East to broadcast exclusive content from the London 2012 Games.

The Two Towers will be displaying photographs capturing key moments from the Games provided by Official Olympic Photographer Getty Images using Panasonic’s LUMIX G cameras. In between photos, Panasonic will feature portraits from its Flag Tags Facebook page and mobile app campaign, which invites people to show support for their country by virtually painting their faces in their national team colours.

The campaign aims to promote Panasonic’s LUMIX G camera and Smart VIERA television ranges, and showcase the brand’s status as an Official Olympic Partner in the audio video category.

Panasonic has been an official worldwide partner of the Games for more than 20 years contributing technology and video expertise from large screen displays, audio and broadcast equipment at the event venues to supplying top of the range cameras, camcorders and plasma displays to support the training programmes of competitors such as the British sailing team and heptathlete Louise Hazel.

“Using a premium digital outdoor canvas to reproduce the content we are creating online and via mobile, interspersed with memorable images taken during the Games, is an innovative way for us to be able to showcase what our combined smart technologies can deliver,” commented David Bonney, Panasonic’s UK advertising and sponsorship manager.

Ocean Outdoor associate director, Claire Shooman, added: “This is a media first for an Olympics sponsor on a major site in a key London 2012 location. Using images taken as the Games unfold and shown in such a spectacular location, illustrates how dynamic digital outdoor media will be in the whole London 2012 experience.”

The campaign was booked through Posterscope and planned by Vizeum with creative by Brave, and runs for a four-week period.
