A Burger King Ohio employee made a king size mistake earlier by posting a photo of himself standing in two tubs of lettuce to photo sharing site 4chan.org.

Much like the Domino's scandal of 2009, social media helped the unhygienic picture go viral within hours and users of the site quickly used geo-tagging to find out where the anonymous employee was tainting the food. This information was then supplied to the local media, forcing Burger King bosses to issue this public statement:

"Burger King Corp. is aware of a photo that shows a Burger King restaurant employee violating the company’s stringent food handling procedures. Food safety is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question.

The restaurant where this photo was taken is independently-owned and operated by a Burger King franchisee. The franchisee has taken swift action to investigate this matter and has terminated the three employees involved in the incident."

Unfortunately this wasn't the end of the story for Burger King, as a Adweek's digital design director Alfred Maskeroni went to work on a window ad to "help" Burger King recover from the embarrassment.
