George Entwistle, who will take over from Mark Thompson as director-general of the BBC in September, is said to be considering a strategic repositioning of BBC Worldwide.

There are rumours that these changes, if they occur, will see current Worldwide chief executive John Smith losing his job.

According to reports, Entwistle is seeking to bring the commercial Worldwide arm closer to the public side, and trim its scope.
