UK holiday-camp Butlins has released a Facebook app in which families can create animated photo albums of their holidays and share them on Facebook and Twitter. Created by Staffordshire-based digital marketing agency TAMBA the app has two animation themes at the moment – Pirates Adventure and Animal Adventure – with more planned for the future.

It comes off the back of TAMBA’s augmented reality campaign for Butlin’s Wave Hotels and Apartments in Bognor Regis which has been distributed in press advertising as well as being found throughout the resort. In 2011, TAMBA also produced the Happy Days viral game for the resort which went on to win both a 2012 Travel Marketing Award and a Roses Design Award.

Jae Hopkins, head of communications at Butlins, said the app was: “A lovely way for families to share photos on social media.

Hopkins added: “TAMBA pitched the idea having done some other exciting work with us recently. They have consistently come up with innovative projects that have come in on time and on budget.”

Kay Hammond, CEO of TAMBA, commented: “we wanted to give holidaymakers a way of remembering their time there with a unique keepsake. Not only does this application offer this, but it can also be used by families to build a memento of any special occasion not just holidays.”
