Six new members voted onto Manchester Digital council

Creative and digital network Manchester Digital has elected six new members to its council.

From 13 candidates, chosen were managing editor at The Next Web Martin Bryant, managing director at Magma Digtial, Jeremy Coates, principal lecturer in Digital Marketing & Enterprise at Manchester Metropolitan University, David Edmundson-Bird, freelancer Shaun Fensom, Code Computerlove CEO Tony Foggett and graphic designer Rachel Tonner.

Members are elected for two years, with 12 places existing on the council.

Katie Gallagher at Manchester Digital, commented: “The creative and digital industries play a critical role in our economic development. Manchester has a fantastic opportunity to become a leading digital city – there is so much talent and passion here.

“Our new councillors bring a diverse set of experiences and skills, which will help us to continue growing and supporting digital innovation across the region. We’re very excited to welcome them.”
