As the on-going battle to protect official sponsors at London 2012 wades on it was a case of ‘Just Undo It’ at Manchester United’s Old Trafford home.

As Manchester United’s kit is made by the US sports giants Nike, who are not an Olympic sponsor, the giant swoosh painted on the East Stand has been altered so that it now resembles an unrecognisable white line among the red seats, as the stadium plays host to Olympic football events.

The move comes after it emerged children lining the routes of the athletes parade through the Olympic park were asked to wear “comfortable, unbranded or Adidas shoes.” Pitchside

advertisements at Old Trafford have also been removed and replaced by flags from participating countries on the East and West stands.

A Nike spokesperson commented: “We appreciate that the changes have been made to ensure the stadium meets Olympic regulations.”
