Infographic: How pay-per-click ads are taking over Google results

Wordstream has unveiled an infographic looking at how Google’s search engine results are being taken over by pay-per-click ads.

According to US advertising data, sponsored results account for 64.6 per cent of clicks for high commercial intent keyword searches.

It was also found that 45.5 per cent of people could not identify paid ads on the search engine results page if there was not a right column.
