Newspaper publisher Johnston Press has agreed a contract with newspaper advertising production outsourcer Express KCS, for the provision of print and digital advertising production services.

This is the first deal agreed since a partnership was formed between Express KCS and the Press Association in November 2011, and will see Johnston Press task the company with becoming its sole vendor to produce advertisements across it newspaper portfolio.

The work will be produced at the three production centres owned by Express KCS in India, and include the use of the company’s cloud-hosted production workflow system.

Robert Berkeley, CEO, Express KCS said: “The newspaper industry is in the process of transition. Express KCS’s world-class advertisement experience enables publishers to benefit from the economies of outsourcing at a time when cost reduction is high on the agenda.”
