The BBC has sold its London television centre complex for £200m to Japanese firm Mitsui Fudosan.

The historic building, which was placed on the market in June 2011, is protected, meaning that any development will be limited in the design of any new plans.

The sale follows the BBC’s move to the newly refurbished Broadcasting House in the heart of London and Media City in Salford.
