Different companies, agencies and individuals have promised various things in return for reaching a certain number of followers on Twitter…but has anyone ever offered the chance to sack an employee before?

That’s exactly what Lean Mean Fighting Machine is offering: “The 5000th follower of our @fightingmachine Twitter account will be the person with the power in their hands. They will get to sack whoever they like and their word is final.

“The day after our 5000th follower arrives everyone inside Lean Mean Fighting Machine towers will be making a plea as to why they think they should stay. Based on those pleas (or just a general hatred for someone) our newly controlling follower's decision shall be made.”

The agency was at 4,972 followers at time of writing.

UPDATE: Since writing, '@welshmike' has become the 5,000th follower.

Is this just a crazy (illegal?) publicity stunt? Do you think the agency will sack the unlucky chosen one? Will you follow them? Let us know in the comments section.
