Ex-Brands2Life director, Gareth Thomas, has launched his own agency, Capella, offering integrated PR and digital services to B2B and consumer brands.

Drawing on Thomas’ ten years’ experience as Head of Digital at Brands2Life – where clients included Google and match.com among others – Battersea based Capella will focus on both established and challenger brands from the technology, internet, entertainment and media sectors, offering campaigns which integrate social and traditional media.

Founder and CEO of Capella, Gareth Thomas believes now “is a great time to launch a new creative agency,” and, is “confident we [Capella] already have the edge on larger agencies when it comes to agility, creativity, client service and value.”

He added: “The turbulent economic times are disrupting both the wider market and the PR landscape, and the emergence of digital and social media have created new opportunities for brands. We'll have digital thinking at the heart of our PR campaigns from day one.”

The agency will launch with four staff, including senior hire Nia Evans, who joins Capella from online ticketing exchange viagogo where she held the role of European communications manager. Within the next year the company plans to recruit up to eight more staff, in line with revenue growth and is in the process of responding to briefs with its first clients due to be announced imminently.
