Wensleydale Creamery, whose Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese brand was made famous in Wallace and Gromit, have announced they are to branch out into the butter market with ‘Dales Butter’.

Branding and packaging developed by Chilli UK are intended to help the Yorkshire dairy producer corner a slice of the £680m UK butter market as a premium alternative for consumers.

This employs imagery of Wensleydale scenery to evoke association with the Yorkshire Dales.

David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “We are delighted to unveil our new Dales Butter, adding further to Yorkshire’s successful contribution to the dairy market.”
