Lawyers acting for President Barack Obama have moved to bar a website from flogging T-shirts, bumper stickers and buttons with Obama’s signature ‘O’ logo.

The character features prominently in Obama’s re-election campaign and is also used extensively at Demstore.com.

Obama’s team allege that the websites owners, Washington Promotions & Printing Inc, are infringing their trademark by selling the products, haemorrhaging supporters and cash for the Obama campaign in the process.

A temporary injunction is currently being brought to immediately bar sale of such merchandise but Demstore contends that they are being unfairly singled out.
