A website for Transport for London (TfL) which aims to highlight how the transport network will be affected during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, has been completed.

The finishing stages to the Get Ahead of the Games site, which initially went live two months ago in a basic form, has included the addition of a travel hotspot map which allows users to see the congestion that can be expected at differing stations during the Games.

The UX interaction elements of the site was developed by we are experience, which worked collaboratively with Detica on the technical build in order to realise its visual design.

The website also offers users tips across the various transport networks, with users able to pre-empt travel disruptions in an attempt to find alternative routes of travel.

Chris Averill, managing director of we are experience, explained: “TfL engaged us in a very collaborative way. Throughout the design process, we worked closely with TfL to develop a tool which will provide people with all the information necessary to get around London in the most efficient way possible.” He continues, “Our focus was on developing a website that is easy to use and visually effective in providing the relevant information so that everyone is prepared for travelling during the Olympics.”
