Pirelli aims to drive customer communications with Big

Pirelli created a series of digital tools with Big, created to help drive its customer communications in preparation for the 2012 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix.

Activity included the development of a QR code on marketing material to lead fans through to the Facebook page in order to win tickets to the 2013 British Grand Prix, plus a Pirelli podium cap signed by Lewis Hamilton & Jenson Button; as well as the creation of a Facebook app for the competition.

An iPad app was also launched for Pirelli staff to categorise users into groups based on car type, utilising the iPad camera so that users could receive a personalised follow-up email after the event.

Dan Neville, Big’s digital director, said: “We have been working with Pirelli for the last 7 months on a range of activity as part of their 2012 digital strategy. The F1 activity has been a real highlight and we are confident that customer communications will be improved.”

Mark Webber won the Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix yesterday.
