Indiana Jones takes on Andrew Lloyd Webber over Superstar TV rating battle and wins
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new talent show, Superstar, which debuted on ITV this weekend, seems to have kicked off to a slow start, garnering an average of 3.2m viewers, behind a repeat of 1980’s blockbuster Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The much heralded programme, which has seen Lord Webber move from BBC to ITV, picked up around 16 per cent of TV share, peaking with 3.5m viewers on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, BBC 1 screened Raiders of the Lost Ark, which drew the largest audience of the evening, with an average of 4.5m viewers.
Superstar, which sees Lord Webber seek an actor to play Jesus Christ in his revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, includes a jury panel featuring Jason Donovan, Mel C and Dawn French.
