The Content Marketing Association has announced the appointment of Cedar CEO Clare Broadbent as chairperson.

Previously called the Association of Publishing Agencies, the aim of CMA is to spearhead content marketing and showcase the range of channels that can be used to engage customers.

Broadbent said: “We have entered a new era in content marketing with channels that completely change the face of owned and earned media content strategies. Print, digital content and video remain central, but complementing the traditional channels with social media management, tablet and smartphone content, app development, brand-funded TV programming and gamification will ensure we maximise ROI and take our campaigns for clients to a new level.

“The CMA is truly the world’s leading global content marketing association with member agencies offering effective cross-platform content strategy and delivery. I am looking forward to working with the team at the CMA and our member agencies to carry on promoting the tremendous and growing value of content marketing.”

She will work with COO Julia Hutchison and CEO Patrick Fuller in the role.

Hutchison said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the association following our recent rebrand which has seen the CMA become a true reflection of the work that our members are now doing across the full spectrum of marketing disciplines from pure play content marketing agencies through to digital agencies and direct marketing agencies. Clare’s appointment will help the association continue to grow from strength to strength and we are looking forward to welcoming her. ”
