McCann London has announced two internal promotions, with Jamie Copas being appointed as chief operating officer and Simon Hill as head of account management.

Previously client services director, Copas will take on the role of COO for McCann London immediately, and will continue to lead key client relationships, while also aiming for operational excellency across the agency.

Since May 2009, Hill, a managing partner before his promotion, has been running McCann Worldgroup’s marketing services for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.

Chris Macdonald, CEO of McCann London, said: “Jamie has consistently delivered for McCann London across some of our key clients, building an outstanding account management department, and we now want to harness some of his infectious energy to drive McCann London forward.

“We’ve always believed in nurturing existing talent to provide strength and depth across the whole agency and these promotions are testament to that. Nikki, Rob, Laurence and I are really excited to have Jamie and Simon help us lead the agency, as it grows and evolves its capabilities for the future.”
