Ariana Huffington, editor of the Huffington Post, has revealed that her media group is in discussions with a number of newspapers to partner on the launch of a Chinese language edition of the Huffington Post.

The Huffington Post already has local editions in the UK, France, Canada and Spain and is set to Italy, Brazil and Turkey to that list before the year is out as part of a global expansion drive.

China may prove far more controversial however with the censorship driven Communist party there seemingly at odds with Huffington’s vision of giving a voice to ordinary citizens.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph Huffington said that no launch date had yet been set for the AOL owned title which was subject to finding the right editor-in-chief.
