A survey into the popularity of TeamGB athletes in Google searches has found that diver Tom Daley and pentathlete Jess Ennis as Britain’s most popular athletes.
The pair topped the Tamar sports index, compiled by the eponymous social and search agency, to mark the last four weeks of build up before the London Olympics kick off.
This looked at each TeamGB athlete by name, ranking each individual by search volume, overall popularity, sentiment and passion.
Both Andy Murray and David Beckham, not yet part of TeamGB, top the table but a host of ‘suggested searches’, such as ‘Tom Daley bulge’ and ‘Jessica Ennis bum’ have done wonders for the third and fourth placed entrants.
