The Scottish Government has appointed Newhaven Communications to handle the advertising for road safety activity.

Newhaven will work alongside Stripe Communications, Carat and Whitespace as part of Scotland’s Road Safety Framework, which aims to reduce the number of serious injuries on Scotland's roads by half.

Caroline Thomas, senior marketing manager from the Scottish Government, said: “As always, Scotland’s agencies brought a lot of talent to the table, but we were particularly impressed with Newhaven’s strategic planning and the creativity they injected into their proposal. The road safety campaign involves a number of different strands and close cross agency working so we’re looking forward to working with Newhaven and all partners in getting planning for the next phase of activity underway.”

Jonathan Shinton, managing partner at Newhaven, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the Scottish Government to the Road Safety account. Being able to present strategic and creative work as part of the pitch process allowed us to fully express our agency thinking. We now look forward to working with all partners to make it all happen.”

The ad account was previously held by The Union.

Newhaven Communications is a member of MiNetwork, the UK-wide organisation that supports and helps ambitious agencies raise their profile.
