Laura Sutherland, managing director of Aura PR, has confirmed that she has completed a management buyout of the firm from partner Flora Martin - one of the biggest names in Scottish PR.

The two owned the agency with equal sharingholding.

In a statement Sutherland said: "After nearly four years of working in and developing our business, Flora and I have decided that we want to focus on different areas of work and as a result Flora has agreed to let me buy her out.

“This will enable her to concentrate on top-level consultancy and for me to take full advantage of my skills in online engagement, innovative projects and campaigns.

"Flora and I not only created a successful business, but we also had a lot of fun along the way. We intend to work together on certain future projects and we'll definitely still meet for our regular wine and catch up sessions!"

Martin, who will focus on ‘traditional’ tools of the trade in a consultancy role, added: "I wish Laura every success in taking the business forward and I'm sure we will be hearing a lot more from @laurafromaura in the future."

Aura PR was founded in November 2008 by Sutherland and Martin after they branched out from Platform PR.
