‘The Drum Presents – When Independence Meets Leveson’ takes place this Thursday (June 28).

Spaces are still available at this bound to be lively debate which kicks off at 6.30pm at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow.

Organised by The Drum, the event will take the form of a debate and the hotly contested topic up for discussion will be how either independence or devo-max could or should affect news media regulation in Scotland.

In the last week John McLellan was added to the already impressive line-up of guest speakers.

McLellan was recently appointed as the Scottish Conservatives new communications director and the ex-Scotsman editor also brings with him a first-hand perspective of Leveson coming fresh from giving evidence earlier this year.

John will join Allan Rennie – editor of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, Atholl Duncan – Former head of news at BBC Scotland and Aamer Anwar – The Sun on Sunday columnist and lawyer. All four will give their views on the subject before taking questions from audience members.

To top it all off the debate is set to be chaired by Jim Chisholm, the recently appointed head of the Scottish Newspaper Society.
