Microsoft Advertising has teamed up with 9ine, a sports marketing communications company founded by WPP and football legend Ronaldo for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The collaboration sees Microsoft Advertising offering advertisers a series of platforms to co-create themed digital experiences across multiple screens. Brands will be able to use Microsoft’s different platforms to reach a global audience of more than two billion.

The ability of a brand to surprise, delight and entertain is now critical to its success. Frank Holland, CVP of advertising and online at Microsoft, explains, “This truth [to surprise, delight and entertain] is at the heart of the offering we are developing with 9ine.

“To allow select brands to bring the World Cup to life in an engaging way at work, at home, or on the go.”

Chairman on 9ine, Ronaldo, said, “Our goal is to make the world a stadium for the World Cup. Through creative digital experiences, we want to draw people from all corners of the world, from all walks of life to the unique experience of the World Cup.”

Evandro Guimarães, managing director of 9ine, added, “We’re looking to create World Cup experiences that go beyond the 22 players on the field…This is an opportunity for brands to imagine what is possible and then make it happen.”

Microsoft Advertising are now looking for global brands who want to create engaging, relevant experiences for the World Cup on and off the pitch to work with.
