South Lanarkshire Council is looking to appoint up to eight photographers in a framework contract valued at around £40,000.
Currently, the Councils photographic services are provided by an in-house photographer, media offer and bank of freelancers. However, under this new contract all future photographic services will be channelled through Corporate Communications, any works that cannot be completed in house will be completed by this new framework.
The contract is set to last for three years but, there is the option to extend for a further 12 months at the discretion of the Council and should available funding be available.
The framework is to be split into two lots, Lot 1 covering press events and general photography in Hamilton, East Kilbride, Rutherglen and Cambuslang, Lot 2 covering the Clydesdale area with up to four appointments in each lot.
Images produced will be for use in public and national press as well as online. Campaign images may also be used on billboards, etc. South Lanarkshire Council plans to have made appointments and have the new framework operational by August 2012.
