Chime Communications shareholders vote in favour of Bell Pottinger sale, with The Good Relations Group set to take its place

Chime Communications shareholders have voted in favour of the sale of Bell Pottinger, with 73.5% of those voting today agreeing to sell to new holding group BPP Communications.

The deal, worth £19.6m, comes as the group aims to move towards becoming a communications and sports marketing business.

It is expected that the transaction will be complete by 30 June, at which time Chime’s public relations division will form The Good Relations Group.

Christopher Satterthwaite, chief executive officer of Chime Communications PLC, said: “The Good Relations Group is a substantial group of businesses with great people, serving great clients. This provides us with a strong platform to deliver growth in the future. The Group will play an integral role within Chime and will focus on advising clients on how to create and develop ‘trusted brands.”

The number of proxy votes cast ‘for’ the resolution was 51,207,095, ‘against’ 17,344,225 and; votes ‘withheld’ 1,084,335.
