This year will see the launch of the Creative Out of Home Awards (COOH), which will be sponsored by international outdoor advertising company Clear Channel.

The COOH Awards in association with Clear Channel is the only creative out of home awards and will aim to recognise the best in outdoor advertising across the UK. The awards will also highlight innovative routes being applied by marketers and agencies to communicate their brand messaging through evolving sensory technology.

Amongst a number of wide ranging categories will be awards for the use of traditional formats such as Transport, Special Build, 48 or 96 sheet, while the digital categories will award Use of Mobile, Interactive and Landscape formats.

Lynn Lester, managing director of events for The Drum, said: "We are very excited to officially launch these awards today, giving creativity in out of home a prestigious platform to be recognised. We spent months speaking with potential supporters and from the onset Clear Channel were fully behind the idea, which speaks volumes for their dedication to creativity and to the sector as a whole. A big thank you also goes to our friends in the industry for their advice during our consultation process, especially to Curb who played an instrumental role in our plans."

The deadline for entries to the awards is 31 August, with entrants required to enter online through the newly launched website. Some categories will also require A2 boards to be submitted.

All entrants will also have the option of submitting a 500 word summary with their work in order to give the judging panel background information on each campaign.
