Gail Rebuck is set to stand down from her role as a director of BSkyB, making her the third board member to step down since November.

The head of Random House publishing will be replaced by Tracy Clarke, the group head of human resources and communications at Standard Chartered Bank.

Nicholas Ferguson, chairman of BSkyB, said: "On behalf of the board and shareholders, I would like to express our gratitude to Dame Gail Rebuck for her very significant contribution to BSkyB.

"Her expertise and counsel have been greatly valued during a period of successful growth for the company. In particular, I would like to pay tribute to her support, through her chairmanship of the Bigger Picture committee, for BSkyB's growing contribution to the community in which we operate."
