Leicester agency Big has poached three creatives from Midlands rival McCann Birmingham.

Creative team Tim Jones and James Cross have joined Big this week as creative group heads and designer Duncan Bancroft will follow in July to take up the post of design group head.

During their time at McCanns, the trio worked on campaigns for Vauxhall, Harley-Davidson, Bentley and National Express, and they were also involved in the creation of McCanns' infamous recruitment ad 'The List'.

At Big they will be reunited with their former boss Billy Mawhinney, who recently joined as creative director having previously had a brief spell helming the McCann Birmingham creative department as acting executive creative director.

Mawhinney said: "Big enjoys an enviable reputation for being one of the strongest creative agencies outside London. We can only maintain this by investing in the best talent, and Tim, James and Duncan coming on board will boost our already strong creative offering."

Cross added: "Billy has talked us through the Agency’s ambitious plans for growth during the next few years and we can’t wait to start."
