Gerard Greaves has been appointed as the deputy editor of the Mail on Sunday while the Sunday Times' Tristan Davies will also join as assistant editor.

Live magazine editor, Greaves has been working as acting deputy since editor Geordie Greig took up his position in April, joining from the Evening Standard.

Davies, the former editor of the Independent on Sunday, will become assistant editor, with The Guardian speculating that his experience of overseeing publications undergoing relaunches and redesigns, could mean one is imminent on the Mail on Sunday too.
