MiAwards invites agencies to go head to head to prove they are the UK's best businesses

Marketing services agencies are being invited to go head to head to prove they are the best run marketing and communications businesses in the UK as the MiAwards are officially opened today for entries.

Last year’s MiAwards saw more than 300 people gather in Manchester to find out which marketing services agencies were judged to be the best and the crowd watched as Warwick-based agency Freestyle Interactive walked away with the top award of the night – the Grand Prix.

Other big winners in 2011 included Lexis PR, which collected the Chairman’s Award, TBWA\Manchester, which was named Ad Agency of the Year, and Rob Morrice of IAs B2B Marketing, who was crowned Managing Director of the Year.

This year’s awards scheme again allows agencies to not only demonstrate to our judging panel that they are well run businesses, but a raft of strategic marketing categories will also enable agencies to demonstrate that they are also first rate at delivering ROI for their clients.

Speaking of MiAwards, the managing director of MiNetwork, the UK-wide membership organisation for ambitious marketing agencies, Richard Draycott, said: “Last year’s MiAwards surpassed all of our expectations in terms of entries and the number of people who came along to the awards dinner, which shows there is a real desire for agencies to prove that they are well run business, great to work for and know where they are heading I the future.

“All MiNetwork members have a number of free entries to the awards, so I would urge them all to start thinking about their submissions sooner rather than later. We will also have some very high profile brands on the judging panel again this year, so it is another opportunity to get your agency and work in front of real marketing decisions makers.

“Everyone at the Awards last year will, I’m sure, guarantee that it is always an interesting night and a great chance for the industry to get together to see some old faces, meet some new ones and generally celebrate great agencies.”

The deadline for entry to MiAwards 2012 is Friday 7 September. The awards dinner will take place on Thursday 15 November at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester.
