Volkswagen appoints new head of marketing

Jürgen Stackmann has been appointed to lead marketing at the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand.

The 50-year-old takes up the role on 1 September and succeeds Luca de Meo, who is joining the board of management for sales and marketing at Audi on the same date.

Stackmann, who started his career at Ford in 1989, joined Volkswagen in 2010 with responsibility for sales and marketing at Skoda.

The motoring giant has also appointed Thomas-Werner Zahn, 45, as head of sales and marketing manager Germany at Volkswagen Passenger Cars, effective September 1, 2012.
