Steve Furnell and Karen Wight have today begun presenting for Metro Radio, following five months off air for contractual reasons after leaving Capital FM.

The pair will present the weekday breakfast slot, from 6-10am, while Brian Moore, who previously held the breakfast slot, will move to the 10-2pm slot and his co-presenter Anna Foster moves to sister station Magic 1152's breakfast show.

Cath Ellington, managing director at Metro Radio, said: "Steve and Karen have established a loyal and loving audience who have grown up with them over the last 10 years.

"With a huge regional advertising campaign announcing they are back and now on Metro, we expect a big lift in our audience and many new listeners to be tuned to Metro at breakfast time. The research we have done in the last 12 months points towards a massive increase in reach allowing us to pull away from our commercial competitors.

"The new show will be rich in local content and the off air creative campaign is hyper local with several different executions based upon communities around the TSA and is sure to connect, create conversation and trial."
