A PricewaterhouseCoopers report is expected to find that the long suffering magazine industry could be poised to turn the corner this year following four years straight of losses.

Leaks of the study, to be published next Tuesday, found that the industry as a whole would nudge back into the black by a paltry but psychologically important 0.1%.

This reflects an uptick in print advertising of two percent whilst digital advertising surges by 17%.

The report stated: “There are now signs that the economy in both the United States and Canada is improving, and we expect an expanding economy to have a positive impact on print advertising in consumer magazines, which will continue to fare much better than print advertising in newspapers.”
