Littlewoods has teamed up with dot.talent to broadcast the retailing world’s first ever live broadcast on Facebook.

Littlewoods Live has been pencilled in for June 13 and will be hosted by brand ambassador Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen in a special one hour long interactive format.

It will showcase Llewelyn-Bowen’s new AW12 collection for Littlewoods with the flamboyant host also relaying the latest trends in homes and living.

A live phone in, competitions and instant messaging will also be employed to engage the audience.

Gary Kibble, brand director for Littlewoods.com said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Laurence to bring his Littlewoods.com designs into customers’ living rooms live via Facebook and on mobile. This is a UK retail first and is very much in line with our brand strategy to engage our customers by creating innovative social media content that brings our products vividly to life.

“Littlewoods.com already has a community of more than 113,000 fans on Facebook. We hope that this will become a way for us to connect regularly with as wide an audience as possible, enabling both existing and new customers to browse and shop with us via a new and exciting platform.”

Danny Spronz, founder and CEO of dot.talent, said: “We are delighted to be working closely with Littlewoods.com on this pioneering project, offering audiences an exciting opportunity to engage with the brand. This entertaining format allows highly effective measurement and enhanced interaction and demonstrates Littlewoods.com’s innovative approach to communicating directly with its audience through social media.”
