As the UK gears up to host two of the world’s most prestigious sporting events in the weeks to come – Euro 2012 and the Olympics – the organisers of Scotland’s most prestigious awards for the events industry have extended the entry deadline for the Scottish Event Awards to give event organisers, venues and events suppliers the opportunity to scoop top honours later this year.

The Scottish Events Awards is now in it fourth year and the deadline for entry has been extended for those companies and organisations still keen to enter the event, which spans categories such as Best Conference, Best Corporate Event, Best Product Launch, Best In-House Event, Best International Event and many more.

The Scottish Event Awards have also been bolstered this year with a new corporate sponsors coming on board to support the growing awards event.

Leading Edinburgh and Glasgow-based public relations consultancy Freshwater Scotland has signed up as a new sponsor this year and will be at the gala dinner to hand awards to the winners of the Best Large Venue and Best Unusual Venue categories.

The Freshwater team in Edinburgh (formerly Profile Plus) specialises in tourism, events, venue, food and drink PR while the Glasgow team’s expertise centres around energy, renewables, property and stakeholder communications.

Managing Director of Freshwater Scotland, Robyn Glynne-Percy, explained why the agency is supporting the Scottish Event Awards this year.

“With the rebrand from Profile Plus and our focus, through both the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, on tourism, hospitality and events as well as energy and stakeholder clients, it is vital that we communicate this new Scottish-wide integrated offering in a number of ways. The Scottish Event Awards provide an ideal platform to do this.

“Freshwater UK is the only integrated agency with expertise in PR, marketing and design, social media, events, public affairs and stakeholder communications with a presence in every region of the UK and Ireland. For many clients, this unique offering will provide a much-needed seamless and effective way to reach all their markets.”

The Scottish Event Awards takes place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 6th September.
