Organisers of the no campaign in the upcoming referendum on Scottish independence are said to be considering adoption of the slogan “stronger together, weaker apart” slogan to persuade voters to reject independence.

Coalition parties are said to have decided to ditch the term “union” owing to negative connotations in the west of Scotland, believing that the alternative better encapsulates their ideals.

No campaigners claim that their push, which still hasn’t been given an official launch date, will be more uplifting and detailed than the ‘underwhelming’ yes campaign which launched last week.

This will attempt to capitalise on the chaos in global financial markets by highlighting the stability of maintaining the existing UK.

A final decision on whether to proceed with the slogan will be made in the next fortnight, allowing time for promotional material to be readied in time for a June launch.
