Blinkbox, the Tesco-owned digital movie service, has appointed Karmarama to work on its advertising following a competitive pitch.

Tesco bought an 80% stake in Blinkbox last year and has since introduced a service that allows Tesco Clubcard customers who buy a film on DVD to watch it online via blinkbox at no additional cost.

It is now looking to strengthen its position in the UK market and take on rivals such as Netflix and LoveFilm.

Michael Comish, CEO at Blinkbox, said: "We are delighted to appoint Karmarama to work with Blinkbox on the next exciting phase of our development."
