The lucky 50 will watch the air show from Raytheon's viewing platform at the show - the highlight of the year for companies in the aerospace, defence , space and security industries. The Tweeters will also watch student rocketeers from France, the UK and the US participate in the fifth annual Transatlantic Rocketry Challenge.

"Farnborough is one of the most thrilling events in aviation," said Pam Wickham, Raytheon vice president of Corporate Affairs . "This year, we're inviting aviation enthusiasts to share in the excitement."

Raytheon will allow Tweetup registrants to sign up with a young guest aged 11-21.

"What better way to encourage these young future engineers than by giving them the thrill of a lifetime at the airshow?" Wickham said.
