University of Manchester hires magneticNorth for digital screens brief
The University of Manchester has appointed magneticNorth to develop a network of digital screens that will feature in its new Alan Gilbert Learning Commons building.
The digital screens will act as the building's signage, replacing traditional signposts with more interactive directions including a campus map.
Manchester-based magneticNorth was awarded the brief after a competitive pitch involving other 'several' digital agencies in the north west.
Rosie Jones, learning commons development manager at the university, said: "The Alan Gilbert Learning Commons will be a flagship building for The University of Manchester and so it is crucial that the signage within this building matches up to these expectations."
Adam Todd, creative director at magneticNorth, added: "Our task is to enhance the student experience using digital media embedded in the building itself. A continuation of our work with large format, multi-touch devices."
