Speculation is mounting that the UK Government is planning a reshuffle of its communications team alongside a Cabinet reshuffle.

Reports in PR Week suggest that David Cameron is keen to raid powerful think-tanks and lobbying firms for candidates with the ‘common touch’ to re-engage with voters.

The move comes as Downing Street takes steps to relaunch the coalition this week, following the controversial departure of Andy Coulson, who gave evidence to the Leveson enquiry yesterday.

Quiller consultant Stephen Parkinson and Matthew Elliott of the TaxPayers’ Alliance’s have been rumoured as likely candidates.
