magneticNorth creates BBC News app for Virgin Media's TiVo

magneticNorth's BBC News app

Digital design company magneticNorth has developed a BBC News television app for the Virgin Media TiVo platform.

Commissioned by the BBC Television Platforms Team based at MediaCityUK, the app will allow the half a million UK homes that have a TiVo set-top box to access a wealth of BBC news content and programming – providing a new immersive way for viewers to engage with BBC news output.

Sanjeev Shewhorak, technical director at Manchester-based magneticNorth, said: "We have worked on a number of projects within the area of connected TV's and are hugely interested in this space.

"The BBC News app will be one of the first ones from the broadcaster to be offered on Virgin TiVo platform and we are ever have really enjoyed working with the BBC to bring the concept to life."
