New England manager Roy Hodgson has been referenced in bookmaker’s online video campaign to promote it’s the forthcoming Euro 2012 tournament.

Hodgson was named as the new England manager on Tuesday, with the bookmaker promising to try and help the manager see whether his players ‘cross the line’ while at Poland and the Ukraine both on the pitch and off it, in reference to the Frank Lampard goal that never was against Germany during England’s previous World Cup match.

Adam Perrin, head of brand for Paddy Power, said: “Football players have a tendency to stray offside at the best of times so we hope our novel use of goal line technology will help ‘Uncle Roy’ keep the wandering stars under control on his first day in the job as England manager.”

The viral is the latest in Paddy Power’s “We Hear You” campaign.
