STV will today release new one-minute commercials to promote its new community website for STV Edinburgh and STV Glasgow.

The ‘Everything around you’ adverts use a 360 degree theme to promote the new websites, highlighting the available content, including a ‘what’s on’ section, as well as local information on sport, restaurants, events and the view of the city from locals.

Stephen O’Donnell, head of STV Creative, said: “These are high quality commercials, which are really original with a contemporary look and feel that reflects the modern, sophisticated nature of the new websites.”

The creative was developed by The Union, produced by STV Creative and directed by David Boni and Mark Huskisson.

Additional sites, including one for Aberdeen, will go live in the coming months.

David Milne, executive editor of STV Local, said: "The evolution of STV Local has led us to the creation of two city sites for Edinburgh and Glasgow, each aspiring to be 'the voice of the city'. The sites are a natural extension of the Local network and are built around core values, including our passionate belief in community. Our hope is that our Edinburgh and Glasgow sites, with their compelling editorial and video content, will prove essential to those who live and work in these great cities."
