British Airways is to sponsor a spectator area within the Olympic Park, where thousands of fans can watch live Olympic events and hear from medal winning athletes.

The dedicated area will host up to 10,000 people at a time, and will include giant TV screens where they can watch events live from picnic lawns within the Olympic Park.

BA hosts, volunteers from the airline, will also be on hand to help visitors to the area, which will include a giant double-side screen in the River Lea.

The Organising Committee has also highlighted its intention to offer general Park tickets to allow people to come into the Olympic Park with event tickets.

Frank van der Post, managing director of brands and customer experience for British Airways, commented: “Park Live Presented by British Airways will be the place for fans to go, cheer on Team GB and ParalympicsGB and give them some home support. It will be open to all guests on the Olympic Park before or after they’ve watched an event, or simply as a destination in itself. We’re looking forward to offering a great experience and dedicated area to watch all the action live.”
