Publisher Centaur is said to be launching a consultation with staff to cut the number of editorial roles in its financial services division, including Money Marketing, with rumours that editorial production across titles such as Marketing Week, The Lawyer and The Engineer may also be centralised.

This comes as the publisher aims to grow in its digital realm, with 32% of its revenue from its half year accounts coming from digital.

According to Press Gazette, almost half of the editorial staff in the financial services division could be cut by the end of May, with a group editor appointed to oversee all titles and current editors of the weekly financial magazines having to reapply for titles such as ‘associate editor’ and ‘head of news’.

As well as Money Marketing, Centaur’s financial divisions include titles such as Mortgage Strategy, Fund Strategy and Corporate Adviser.

It has been said that details of what will happen and how many staff members will be affected will be known in six weeks’ time.
