Pebble, the watch that synchronises with iPhone and Android smartphones, has gone down a storm on creative crowd funding platform Kickstarter, collecting over $1,700,000 after just over a day.

The watch, which was placed on Kickstarter, has received over 12,000 backers after a day, and has another 35 days to run on the site, at the time of writing. The company was only looking for $100,000.

The site is asking for a minimum pledge of $1 from each backer for the Pebble, which allows owners to download and customise their own face for the watch, as well as connecting to smartphones through Bluetooth and operate internet connected apps.

At the time of writing, the Pebble had received 12,405 and generated $1,711,889 in donations.
